Community Server Add-On - Private Community

Private Community is Couto Solutions' premier Building Block that brings Paid Membership to the Telligent Community Server Platform.  Private Community is ideal for any organization that would like to provide a subscription based community that requires a member to purchase a membership to access the site's social content.

Private Community - Detailed Feature Descriptions

Create Paid Membership Packages for Community Access

With Couto Solutions' Private Community for Telligent Community Server, you can create and manage an unlimited number of paid membership packages for individuals. You’ll have the ability to determine the duration of the membership, the price of the membership, and what levels of access members will receive with the membership.

Create Paid Group Membership Packages

With Private Community, you can also create and manage an unlimited number of group memberships that can be purchased by a single entity or person. Group memberships can contain any number of sub-memberships that allow access to the individuals in the group. This is great option for families and businesses that would like to pay for their group’s access. Sub-members in a group membership account can each have a unique login and community profile allowing for a personalized membership experience for each member in the group.

Automate Purchase & Membership Renewal Process (Even Upgrades!)

Private Community makes paid membership management easy as all membership purchases and membership renewals can be completely handled by the community member signing up or renewing. Once you have created all of your membership offerings, members can purchase, renew, and even upgrade their memberships all on their own.

Send Automated Email Notices

With Private Community, automatic email notices are a part of the package. This feature allows you to have automatic and continuous communication with all of your site's members throughout the course of their paid memberships. You can use the automated email notices to request feedback, to inform users of membership opportunities and most importantly to send membership renewal reminders.

Notify Customers Prior to Membership Expiration

When you create a paid membership with Private Community, you’ll have the option to turn on an expiration warning a specified number of days before that type of membership expires. The expiration warning is a bar that appears at the top of the screen. This information bar provides a friendly reminder that the member’s membership is about to expire. It also provides a convenient renewal button which makes it extremely easy for them to renew their membership. This is just another example of the thought we put into Private Community to make it an easy system to manage.

Create Membership Contracts with Membership Offerings

With Private Community, you have the option to create and assign a membership contract to the memberships you create. Membership contracts are a great way to define the terms that both the community and members are bound to as a result of the membership purchase. It is also a great place to spell out the benefits a member will receive with the purchase of a membership.

Force Members to Agree to a New Membership Contract

If you decide to update a contract associated with a membership, you’ll have the option to force a contract update for members who have already purchased the membership. When you force a contract update, members who have already purchased the membership will be prompted to accept the terms of the new contract before they are permitted to gain access to the community on their next visit.

Create Private Memberships (Requires Community Promote Add-On)

You can create memberships that are not made available to the general public. These private memberships are used in conjunction with the Community Promote Add-On to provide private offers to friends and family or to provide special offers for particular members. To sign up for a membership that is not publicly visible, users would be provided a URL or a link through email, and a unique registration code.

Activating and Deactivating Memberships

When you no longer want to offer a particular membership, you can make the membership inactive. Making a membership inactive prevents new purchases of the membership but does not affect any previous purchases. This allows members that are currently using the membership to remain unaffected by the change. You can make an inactive membership active again anytime you want, so you can also use this feature to provide special promotions that are only offered during certain times of the year.

Generating Membership Reports for Private Community

With Private Community, you’ll also receive tools to gauge the success of your community. Private Community provides you with the ability to generate a variety of reports and to export the report data to a CSV file.

Active Membership Report

The Active Membership Report shows you the number of active memberships you have for a given date. In addition, the report generates contact information for active members, like first and last name, username, and email address to help you identify who your members with active memberships are. You can then export this report date to a CSV file for external use.

Expired Memberships Report

The Expired Membership Report shows you the number of memberships that have expired during a given date range. In addition, this report generates contact information for expired members, like first and last name, username, and email address to help you identify who your expired members are. You can then export this report date to a CSV file for external use.

New Memberships Report

The New Memberships Report shows you the number of membership that were purchased by new members during a given date range. In addition, the report generates contact information for new members, like first and last name, username, and email address to help you identify who your new members are. You can then export this report data to a CSV file for external use.

Membership Purchases Report

The Membership Purchases Report shows you how many memberships were purchased each month which includes both new purchases and renewals. It breaks down purchases by membership type which gives administrators insight to the most popular memberships in the community.

The Membership Overview Report is a comprehensive numerical analysis of your community’s memberships and registrations. This report provides a breakdown of the community with details about membership renewals, overall change in membership, registered users without memberships, and more.
