Couto Solutions’ Post Tracker Building Block is an upgrade for the Community Server forums interface that provides a more traditional forum layout. Post Tracker adds the ability to track read and unread posts individually for every user in the community all the way down to the post level as well as many other features.
With Post Tracker, forums are organized in a more traditional way so that users can easily locate the content that they are most interested in. Also, Post Tracker enables users to personalize the forum layout so they only have to see the forums they are interested viewing.
Post Tracker's post tracking abilities make it possible for users to easily track new topics and unread posts. With just a glance, users can determine how many new topics and unread posts are in a forum, which topics are new, who wrote the last post in a topic, and when the last post in a topic was written. Additionally, when viewing a topic all unread posts are highlighted in a different color so that users can easily distinguish between read and unread posts.
With Post Tracker, users can view a topic starting with the first post, the last post, or the first unread post. This feature removes the frustration of having to view every topic starting with the first post. Without Post Tracker, users are forced to sift through pages of posts in search of new content and they have no way to discern where the new posts begin. With Post Tracker, users can decide where to begin viewing a topic and since all unread posts are highlighted in a distinguishable color, they can also easily determine where the new content begins.
Post Tracker also provides the option to display an aggregate view of all topics in a forum group. Instead of having to view the topics in each forum separately, users can view all of the topics in a forum group at once.
Additional features of Post Tracker include the ability to view all posts without paging, and the ability to generate a printer-friendly version of all posts in a topic. Plus, Post Tracker provides an easy way to link to posts.
